NARILIS grants for participating in international scientific conferences

Purpose

The aim of this funding is to offer support to NARILIS researchers for their participation in international scientific conferences. The grants are awarded only for active participation (oral communication or poster presentation). Applications are open to PhD students and postdoc researchers from UNamur, as well as (clinician)-researchers from CHU UCL Namur, affiliated to NARILIS.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • The applicant must be a member of NARILIS.
  • The applicant must be a PhD student or a postdoc researcher from the UNamur (students are not eligible). The applicant must still be under contract at the time of the conference.
  • The applicant must be a member of NARILIS.
  • The applicant must be a clinician-researcher or a researcher from the CHU UCL Namur (Godinne - Dinant - Sainte-Elisabeth). The applicant must still be under contract at the time of the conference.
CONDITIONS
  • The applicant must have an abstract accepted for poster or oral presentation by the organizers of the conference. It is however possible to apply prior having received the notification of acceptance.
  • The applicant must be the first author (presenting author) of the abstract.
  • The grant recipient must highlight his/her affiliation to NARILIS on all communication materials (abstract, poster, slides…).
  • The applicant is strongly encouraged to look for alternative funding options and submit other funding requests (i.e. FNRS, FWB, science societies, conference travel grants…).
  • The applicant must have an abstract accepted for poster or oral presentation by the organizers of the conference. It is however possible to apply prior having received the notification of acceptance.
  • The applicant must be the first author (presenting author) of the abstract.
  • The grant recipient must highlight his/her affiliation to NARILIS on all communication materials (abstract, poster, slides…).
LIMITS
  • If affiliated 100% to NARILIS
    • PhD students can receive maximum two grants of 500€ during their doctoral thesis.
    • Postdoc researchers can receive maximum one grant of 500€ during their postdoc.
  • If affiliated 50% to NARILIS
    • PhD students can receive maximum one grant of 500€ during their doctoral thesis.
    • Postdoc researchers can receive maximum one grant of 250€ during their postdoc.
  • Maximum 10 grants per year will be awarded, on a first-come-first-served basis.

 

Principles of funding

The grant can be used to cover the following costs, in order of priority:

  1. Registration fee
  2. Accomodation
  3. Travel costs

The grant can not be used to cover meals.

Funds from external sponsors and from NARILIS can be combined. But if external funds have been obtained, these should be used first.

Application procedure

This call remains permanently open. Applications may be submitted any time, but at least 2 months before the conference start date.  

All applications must be submitted using the ONLINE FORM.

Awarding of the grant

The applicant will be notified by email of NARILIS funding decision, within a time-limit of 3 weeks. 

The grant will be awarded on the condition that the grant recipient has sent to NARILIS the proof of acceptance of the abstract (notification email from the conference organizer, conference proceeding / abstract book...).
