Scientific meeting to celebrate the 40-year research career of Emeritus Professor Michel Jadot

The endosomal and lysosomal system is a complex and highly dynamic network of compartments involved in many processes, including subcellular trafficking, macromolecule degradation as well as signaling. As a biologist and expert in subcellular fractionation methods, Michel Jadot has made remarkable contributions to the understanding of lysosomal function/dysfunction and how lysosomal proteins are targeted to lysosomes.

Join us as we celebrate Michel's 40-year research career and delve into the fascinating world of lysosomes with our five guest speakers. This one-day meeting will serve as a platform to showcase the latest advancements in the field and foster scientific exchanges among researchers. It will reflect the diverse facets of lysosomal research, from basic research to therapeutic applications. The program will also be enriched by short talks and poster presentations by young scientists.

The original deadline to submit abstracts was February 25, 2024. Short talks have now been selected.
However, submissions for poster presentation are still welcome until March 10, 2024!

Access to Namur and the University of Namur (UNamur)

By train to UNamur

The rail is a very good mode to access the University and the city center. Namur is ideally located on the rail network. In Belgium, the main national lines to Namur come from Brussels, Liège, Charleroi, Tournai, ... Trains run on weekdays twice an hour from and to Brussels, Luxembourg, Liège and Charleroi. Namur is also well connected by various international lines, high speed (Thalys, TGV, ICE, Eurostar) or classic (Eurocity, Intercity), to many cities in France, such as Lille, Paris, Lyon, Avignon, Perpignan, or even Nice. Other European cities also benefit from easy access such as Rotterdam, Schiphol, Amsterdam, Aachen, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Essen, Munich, Stuttgart, Vienna, Basel, Luxembourg, Metz, Strasbourg, Basel, Maastricht, La Hague, Amsterdam, ...

The UNamur is at 10-minutes walk from the train station.

By plane to UNamur

Brussels National Airport (Zaventem) offers easy access to Namur thanks to a direct line to Namur every hour. Brussels-South Airport (Charleroi) enables you to reach Namur via a bus to Charleroi station, then a train to Namur. Other airports are also located at a slightly longer but reasonable distance and could constitute an interesting alternative in certain cases (Luxembourg, Lille, Cologne, Eindhoven, ...).

By car to UNamur

Namur is at the crossroads of the E411 (Brussels-Luxembourg) and E42 (Liège-Mons) motorways. The UNamur visitor car park is located rue Henri Lemaître and is accessible by means of an access sticker (to be requested at info@narilis.be).
