Boosting scientific writing skills with Scriptoria’s Journal Article Writing Workshop

From May 19-21, 2025, NARILIS had the privilege of hosting Dr. Robert Bolt, who holds a PhD in Cell Biology and Molecular Biotechnology from the University of Leeds, and currently works as consultant and trainer at Scriptoria (UK). During an intensive workshop, Robert provided invaluable guidance to twenty-four NARILIS researchers, including 8 clinician-researchers from CHU UCL Namur and 16 PhD students from UNamur. He shared insights into planning, developing, and writing scientific manuscripts, using real-life examples from both basic life sciences and clinical research. Theoretical sessions alternated with participant-led exercises and group discussions to put learning into practice. 

Participants left the workshop with a lot of new knowledge and concrete tools to elevate the quality of their scientific writing and increase their chances of publication.
