Getting Published: Journal Article Writing Workshop given by Scriptoria at NARILIS
On April 24-26, NARILIS had the great pleasure to host Dr. Laura Knogler, head of Scriptoria's training department, which has been training staff at top international organizations and research centers for over 20 years. Holding a PhD in biological sciences, Laura has extensive experience as an author, editor, and peer reviewer.
Over 2.5 days, she ran in Namur a Journal Article Writing Workshop for 21 NARILIS researchers, including 4 clinician-researchers from CHU UCL Namur and 17 PhD students from UNamur. She provided them with valuable insight on how to plan, develop and write scientific manuscripts, using real-life examples from basic life sciences as well as clinical research. Theoretical sessions alternated with participant-led exercises and group discussions to put the learning into action. Participants went home with lot of new knowledge and concrete tools to increase their writing quality and boost their publication rate.
