NARILIS radiobiology work on the cover of Radiation Research journal

The article "Dose, LET and Strain Dependence of Radiation-Induced 53BP1 Foci in 15 Mouse Strains Ex Vivo Introducing Novel DNA Damage Metrics" is a joint publication between the NASA Ames Research Center (Dr. Sylvain Costes) and NARILIS (Dr. Sébastien Penninckx and Prof. Stéphane Lucas, UNamur, LARN).

This study presents the DNA damage and repair kinetics in primary fibroblast cultures isolated from 15 different mouse strains and subjected to increasing doses of low- and high-LET radiation.
In the last figure of their article (Fig. 8), the authors provide a summary of their results in a schematic that describes the relationship between LET, dose, fluence and repair domains. This figure was selected to illustrate the cover of the July 2019 issue of Radiation Research!
