VIROCell Diagnostics, a new spin-off project initiated by PhD student Constant Gillot and Prof. Jonathan Douxfils

VIROCell Diagnostics is a spin-off project under construction initiated by Constant Gillot, PhD student, and Jonathan Douxfils, professor at the Department of Pharmacy (UNamur, NARILIS). VIROCell Diagnostics aims at centralizing and developing cell-based models to perform pre-clinical and clinical stage evaluations for the development of vaccine and drug candidates according to ISO and GLP standards.

Their current services include:

  • Evaluation of the neutralizing antibody response following infection or vaccination for different viral types such as Influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and SARS-CoV-2 (different sublineages)
  • Evaluation of the resistance to adenovirus-based therapies (patented cell-based model).
  • NETosis model to evaluate potential drug candidates for NETosis inhibition or to assess the impact of various therapies on NETosis.

Other cell-based models will soon be added to the current portfolio.

VIROCell Diagnostics assists their clients through the various stages of the drug development process and provide an analytical report according to regulatory standards.
