Thierry Arnould appointed President of NARILIS, Jonathan Degosserie becomes Vice-president
NARILIS is pleased to announce a renewal of its Collegian Board! After four years of dedicated service, Charles Nicaise has handed over the presidency of NARILIS to Thierry Arnould at UNamur, while Lionel D’Hondt passes the vice-presidency to Jonathan Degosserie at CHU UCL Namur.
Thierry Arnould is a Professor of Biochemistry and Cell biology at the Faculties of medicine and sciences of UNamur. In collaboration with Professor Patsy Renard, he co-leads a research group that performs research in various fields related to the biology of mitochondria and other organelles in processes such as metabolism, obesity, lipedema, stem cell differentiation, intracellular bacterial infection and cancer cell irradiation. Jonathan Degosserie is head of the Namur Molecular Tech, a molecular biology platform dedicated to research at the CHU UCL Namur. He is also visiting lecturer in the Department of biomedical sciences at UNamur. His research interest focuses on oncology and the genetic mechanisms underlying tumor development and progression, with a special emphasis on biomarkers in liquid biopsies as diagnostic and prognostic tools. With the support of the other Collegian Board members, Thierry Arnould and Jonathan Degosserie will work together to further strengthen the UNamur-CHU UCL Namur partnership and drive NARILIS’ missions forward.
NARILIS warmly thanks outgoing board members for their commitment over the past years: Jean-Michel Dogné, Nathalie Kirschvink and Johan Wouters at UNamur, and Lionel D’hondt and Fabienne George at CHU UCL Namur. They are succeeded by new members: Régis Hallez and Jean-Michel Vandeweerd at UNamur, and Alexandra Dili and Alexandre Goussens at CHU UCL Namur.
